The project
Positioned on the Channel Island of Guernsey, Vraic is a refined culinary destination led by visionary chef Nathan Davies. With a passion for open fire cooking and a deep respect for locally sourced ingredients, the team craft exquisite dishes that require an environment that is equally cultivated. Nestled on the seafront, Vraic’s external restaurant terrace offers an unforgettable dining experience right on the water’s edge. Heaters, fire pits and jumberellas make the terrace enjoyable year-round and create a seamless transition from inside-out. The design perfectly complements the natural beauty of the isle and its exquisite cuisine.
The interior
The overall tone is elegant, understated, and rooted in nature. The interior is designed to showcase the use of natural materials such as raw concrete, unfinished timber and textured stone. Tailored specifically for this unique space, the bespoke furnishings combine sophistication with a welcome sense of intimacy. From the gently undulating timber flooring to handmade concrete sinks and planters, custom joinery, and sculptural clay tile screens, each detail has been carefully considered. Unique touches like seaweed-inspired art and a handcrafted seaweed chandelier connect the space to its coastal surroundings in a meaningful and sympathetic way. Deep, colour-drenched walls and ceilings that create real intimacy. Light oak and warm lighting add contrast, enhancing the sense of drama without overpowering the calm energy of the space. The result is an atmosphere of understated luxury, where every element speaks of quality and character.
