‘Take an icon and make it better’ was the brief given to TibbattsKirkAbel when appointed as Lead Consultants for the new Chinawhite.

A number of locations were apprised before settling on the new site. Converting the previously impractical premises took a great deal of imagination. The task was further complicated by the building’s Grade II* Listing, but given TKA’s history and knowledge of negotiating local authority demands into awkward sites with curious histories within Westminster, the proposed scheme was approved successfully and the site converted to a create a great new home for Chinawhite.

TKA’s dynamic approach to space planning has resulted in a series of creatively interlinked front of house spaces, serviced from efficiently planned back of house areas. The main room is at the heart of the layout with multi levels of seating, bars and walkways framing the central stage.
